My very friendly dragon, Duncan, loves October because thats when he gets pumpkins. But, why does he love them so much?
Is it because they come in all shapes and sizes? Or maybe he loves the orange ones best - they do afterall, match carrots in colour!
Personally I think its their versatility.... beauty, carving, taste! Oh yes the taste. Do you realise all the delicious things you can make with a pumpkin? I don't just mean soup or pumpkin and cinnamon pie. I'm talking warm spiced pumpkin milk Mmmm! Pancakes too. And these they taste wonderful cooked over a campfire.
Yes, we have a lot to thank pumpkins for!
